Luc Dooms

Senior Analyst

Luc holds Master’s degrees in Physics (1985) and Computer Science (1993), but started his professional career as a physics researcher at KULeuven. After leaving academia, he dove fully into ICT and acquired in-depth knowledge of software engineering, artificial intelligence, networking and network security. In 1998, he co-founded C-CURE and led the company from an innovative start-up to a notorious, trusted and reliable cybersecurity partner in the European market. In June 2010, C-CURE was acquired by telecoms giant Telenet and merged and integrated into the Telenet Solutions Division. Today, Luc uses his expertise on boards and committees and also co-invests in innovative start-ups at an early stage.

When did you join AGIO Capital and how did you get in touch with us?
I joined Agio Capital in June 2020, during the crisis.

Why did you join us?
The idea presented to me of setting up a guerrilla finance boutique specialising in financing innovative companies really appealed to me.

What do you like about your work, what is your favourite part?
Closing the gap between technology and finance. Getting investors to look behind the pitch deck. Function as a no-bullshit filter.

What are your ambitions for the future?
Working on technologically interesting deals and making a difference to investors with a clear technology vision.
